Where do you look to find strength? Your experience? Your health? Your money? Your job? All these things could vanish.Only the strength of the Lord can meet the demands of life.
"Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength" (Is. 40:31).

God is our Song. That takes care of the dullness of life. The Lord will give you joy.

God is our Salvation. That takes care of the dangers of life. He delivers us and is always at our side. "The right hand of the Lord is exalted; the right hand of the Lord does valiantly" (v. 16). That right hand is available to us today.
Believers may sing this song of praise, for God takes care of the demands, the dullness and the dangers of life.
He is your Strength, your Song and your Salvation.

Remember that God is ever available to deliver you from the difficult experiences of life.

My Manna

He calms the storms

"For He commands and raises the stormy wind, which lifts up the waves of the sea. When the sun was blackened for three hours and God the Son was made sin for us, all of the waves and the billows of God's judgment came upon Jesus on the cross.
Because He weathered that storm, you and I can cry out to God. The mountains skipped like rams, the little hills like lambs.... Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob, who turned the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a fountain of waters" Psalm 114:1-8.

The psalmist mentions the time God opened the Red Sea and the Israelites walked across on dry land. He talks about when the nation entered the Promised Land over the dry bed of the Jordan River.
Then he refers to their experience in the wilderness, when they were thirsty and God turned the rock into a pool of water. What are we to learn from all of these experiences?
God helps us in the obstacles of life. When you turn your obstacles over to the Lord, He acts.

What will He do?

Sometimes He overcomes the obstacles. God is with us in the hopeless places. How hopeless the Israelites were at the Red Sea! The enemy soldiers were behind them; the wilderness was around them; the sea was in front of them. But God opened a way to escape.

Sometimes God removes the obstacles--the "hills" and the "mountains." He just makes them skip and run away like animals.

Sometimes He makes the mountains a way for us to escape.
Isaiah 49:11."I will make each of My mountains a road, And My highways shall be elevated".

Sometimes He also can turn the obstacles into blessings. He "turned the rock into a pool of water, the flintinto a fountain of waters" (v. 8). If God doesn't overcome or remove your obstacle, let Him turn itinto a blessing. Trust God with your obstacles. He can help you in-

-the hopeless places,
-the high places
-and the hard places.

Love Covers

There are people in every fellowship who take joy in finding something bad about somebody else. When they hear something ugly, they take great delight in exposing it. Love does not rejoice in iniquity.
Love wishes that it never happened. Love tries to cover it up. That doesn’t mean we condone sin, we just cover it.

“Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.” Proverbs 10:12.
Let me illustrate.

Noah had three sons, Ham, Shem, and Japheth. Ham came and saw his father’s nakedness and was quick to tell others. Shem and Japheth covered their father to help him cover his shame – not to condone what he had done, but to cover it. Wouldn’t the world be a lot better place if we had that spirit?

Genesis.9:20-27.:"And Noah began to be a farmer, and he planted a vineyard. Then he drank of the wine and was drunk, and became uncovered in his tent.
And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside.

But

Shem and Japheth took a garment, laid it on both their shoulders, and went backward and covered the nakedness of their father. Their faces were turned away, and they did not see their father’s nakedness.
So Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done to him.
Then he said: “ Cursed be Canaan; A servant of servants He shall be to his brethren.”
And he said:“ Blessed be the LORD, The God of Shem,And may Canaan be his servant.
May God enlarge Japheth, And may he dwell in the tents of Shem; And may Canaan be his servant.”

Write down the names of-
1) someone who has hurt you recently,
2) someone who takes advantage of you, torment you,or even blackmail you.
3) someone who has done something wrong, but no one else knows about it except you.
Now, lift that person up in prayer for God to forgive him or her.

"And the LORD restored Job’s losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before."Job.42:10.

Ask God to give you an opportunity to glorify His name by showing this person His love.

Tired of your Prayers?

There are several reasons why we might grow weary or even sick of our own prayers.

One great reason, for some, is the struggle to labour on in unanswered prayer.

It is hard to pray with intensity and consistency when the hand of God seems, to us, unmovable.
My hope is that you, who are tired of praying, this or that prayer will continue to implore the hearer of prayer with fervency, reverence and confidence.

Fervency because all followers of Christ need to cry to God. We are in continual need of the care, protection and provision of the Lord. The more grace is felt in our hearts, the more the sense of want for more heavenly supplies will be felt.

James 5:16, "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much."

Fear: Because of the reverence and respect who owe such a glorious Saviour. Psalm 2:11, "Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling." While we are fond of speaking of the mercy of God, we must never forget that He is also a majestic God.

"God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be held in reverence of all that are about him.", Psalm 89:7

Faith: Because He certainly hears us. We rely upon His goodness and power to meet all our needs. He is so gracious to us in Christ that He will do what is best for His glory and our good. And if something is not glorifying to God or for our good, we should not seek it.
Eph. 3:12, "In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him."

It may often be true that the prayers that please us least, please God most.

But one thing every wise follower of God knows: pray they must. When we pray we enter heaven's gates and we fellowship with the Lord of the world. This is no small thing, and it is a great privilege.

May the Lord make you a prayer warrior!

"If you can't pray a door open, don't pry it open." No, God is no respecter of persons. 2 Chronicles 19:7. He has given to every man a measure of faith Romans 12:3.

And so, what is faith? Let me first say what it is not. Faith is not positive thinking or optimism. It is not a feeling that you can do something. It is not a hunch or looking on the sunny side of the street.

Faith is getting a word from God and acting upon it.

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” Romans 10:17.

You see, you can get a word from God and believe that word, that is belief. But, when you act upon it, that is faith. Faith is belief with legs on it. Today is the day that you put your foot offaith upon the promises of God and say, “That promise is mine!”.Love Worth Finding.

Hebrews.11:1,6:
"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen...
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him"

OK.What Word or promise God has given to you?

"For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us". 2 Corinthians.1:20:

Praying Paraclete!

“Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered..” Romans 8:26

Sometimes we don’t know how to pray. We are tired and exhausted to pray.We are almost numb and inarticulate. We pray until we’re out of breath, and all we can do is just simply sigh and groan.

That’s when God steps in. That’s when the dear Holy Spirit of God intercedes for us.
The Holy Spirit is the "Paraclete"(Greek word),which means "one who comes along side".He is the One who prays to God on your behalf,in your place.

He is there to help us bear the load. It’s the Holy Spirit who inspires, guides, energizes, and sustains our praying. And when we don’t know how to pray or what to pray for, thank God, the Spirit of God is interceding for us.

Precious friend, (Since you are bought with a price, the shed blood of Jesus Christ, you are precious) if you’ve been through the storm, if you’re in the storm, or going into a storm; thank God, there’s One Who groans for you. And other little boats were also with Him. And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” Mark 4:34-38.

Jesus slept on a pillow in the midst of a raging storm. How could He? The terrified disciples, shook Him awake with rebuke. How could He be so careless of their fate?

He could because He slept in the calm assurance that His Father was in control.

His was a quiet heart.

Situations and circumstances could not affect the peace of mind He had with His heavenly Father.

"You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You,because he trusts in You"Isaiah.26:3.

We see Him move serenely through all the events of His life--when He was reviled, He did not revile in return. When He knew that He would suffer many things and be killed in Jerusalem, He never deviated from His course. He had set His face like flint. He sat at supper with one who would deny Him and another who would betray Him, yet He was able to eat with them, willing even to wash their feet. Jesus in the unbroken intimacy of His Father's love, kept a quiet heart.

My heart can be at peace because My Father is in charge of all my conditions and circumstances.

How simple!

Then what happenned?

"Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm"V.39.

"No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it" 1Corinthians 10:13.

Think of that promise and keep a quiet heart! Our enemy delights in disquieting us. Our Savior and Helper delights in quieting us. "As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you" is His promise Is 66:13.
The choice is ours. "The Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly" (v. 11).
Grace--that's how the spiritual journey begins. We are saved by God's grace. We trust Jesus, and in grace God saves us. Glory--that's how it ends.
One day we will be in heaven and share the glory of the Lord forever.

But between grace and glory, life can be rather difficult. We read in I Peter 5:10 that the "Godof all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while,[will] perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you." Whatever begins with grace leads to glory, but how do we make the journey between grace and glory? "For the Lord God is a sun and shield" (v. 11).

He is a sun.
That's provision and sufficiency.

He is a shield.
That's protection and security.

We start the journey with grace; we continue the journey trusting God's provision and protection; and we end the journey by entering into the glory of the Lord.

What does it mean to walk uprightly? It means walking in the light, obeying His word, lovingHim and trusting Him.

Psalm 84:11 is a great verse to claim for your pilgrim journey. Begin with God's grace and endin His glory. Along the way you have the promise of His provision and protection. Do you qualifyfor God's provisions for the journey? Determine always to walk uprightly by obeying the Word ofGod and trusting its promises.

God bless you!

Definite Deliverance!

Read Psalm 103:19-22

No matter how difficult your situation may be today, no matter how discouraging the news, youcan still lean on this:

"The Lord has established His throne in heaven, and His kingdom rules over all" (v. 19).God is enthroned in heaven and in control of everything that happens. Sometimes it may notlook like it. If you're walking by sight, you may wonder if there is a God at all. Or if there is aGod, does He care? Or if He cares, can He do anything? The psalmist tells us, "Don't walk bysight; walk by faith."

God has an army.

"Bless the Lord, you His angels, who excel in strength, who do His word, heeding the voice of His word" (v. 20). The angels act at His command. If we read and study the Word of God and obey it, everything in the universe will work with us.

If we disobey the Word of God, everything will work against us--just as it did against Jonah, who was running in the wrong direction, going on the wrong ship, with the wrong motive, for the wrong purpose. God finally brought him to a place of obedience.

Have faith that God is in control and working on you in every situation and in your present situation also.No matter how difficult your day or how discouraging the news might be, lean on the wonderful assurance that God is on His throne.

He is ruling, and His servants are at work accomplishing His Word.

Obey God's Word today in what ever He asks you to obey (Ask Him for His help and strength to obey Him) and keep walking by faith.
Your deliverance is SURE!

Jeremiah 39:17-18
"But I will deliver you in that day,” says the LORD, “and you shall not be given into the hand of the men of whom you are afraid. For I will surely deliver you, and you shall not fall by the sword; but your life shall be as a prize to you, because you have put your trust in Me,” says the LORD.’'

The victory is certain!

If the battle Is the Lord’s, then the responsibilities for planning belong to him.
Everything connected with the line of attack, the method of defence, must belong to him. We need not be anxious as to the enemy’s subtlety, activity of power etc.
He has the full view of the enemy’s movements, and a perfect knowledge of the enemy’s devices. He has anticipated all the ememy’s wiles.
It is impossible for him to be deceived, or to be taken by surprise. It is his glory that is at stake; the honour of his name that is being assailed. He is able to withstand the mightiest foe!

If the battle is the Lord’s the supplies will be all sufficient. No one knows how much is wanted in the day of battle like that general who has been through many campaigns. We shall lack nothing to make us victorious warriors.

The victory is certain!

The captain on whose side we are has never known defeat. He goes forth conquering and to conquer.
The enemy may apparently gain temporary advantage at different points of battle, but victory over Christ by satan is simply impossible. Let us have confidence in his power, and be obedient to his commands.
Queen Victoria said, “ We are not interested in the possibilities of defeat. They do not exist!”

Now thanks to be God who leads us on in the train of his triumph. 2 Cor:2:14

Faith in the Furnace!

I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction. (Isaiah 48:10)
This has long been the motto fixed before our eye upon the wall of our bedroom, and in many ways it has also been written on our heart. It is no mean thing to be chosen of God. God's choice makes chosen men choice men. Better to be the elect of God than the elect of a whole nation.
So eminent is this privilege, that whatever drawback may be joined to it we very joyfully accept it, even as the Jew ate the bitter herbs for the sake of the Paschal Lamb. We choose the furnace, since God chooses us in it.We are chosen as an afflicted people and not as a prosperous people, chosen not in the palace but in the furnace.
In the furnace beauty is marred, fashion is destroyed, strength is melted, glory is consumed, and yet here eternal love reveals its secrets and declares its choice. So has it been in our case. In times of severest trial God has made to us our calling and election plain, and we have made it sure: then have we chosen the Lord to be our God, and He has shown that we are assuredly His chosen. Therefore, if today the furnace be heated seven times hotter, we will not dread it, for the glorious Son of God will walk with us amid the glowing coals.C.H.Spurgeon.

Know this that the sadness and the difficulties that you may be in cannot be permanent. All difficulties are subject to change in due time because you possess persistent faith. There is no power so great that can keep you, child of God, inside the fiery furnace permanently.
Therefore, rest securely in Him because He is your shield. Nothing however evil can penetrate this great shield to destroy you.
2 Samuel 22:3-7The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence. I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid; The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me; In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears. Psalm 42:5, 11.

God's love moves us to believe that God will see us through the worst of times.
Let's see how the power of hope worked in the believer who wrote Psalm 42.
The psalmist seems to be a believer in exile, perhaps a prisoner of war in a strange land. Is he being punished by God? Maybe, but we can't be sure. Maybe it's just one of the tragic consequences of living in a world in which innocent people often suffer as a result of the decisions, right or wrong, of other people.
How is the psalmist doing? He is often lonely, anxious, and depressed. He longs to be back among his people and in his homeland, worshiping God "with shouts of joy and thanksgiving."
But here he is, an outcast mocked by his enemies, who say to him all day long, "Where is your God?"
What does this believer do to lift his spirit from the pit of despair? Again and again the psalmist says to his soul: "Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God."Dear friend, no matter what you are going through, keep on putting your hope in this great truth: Nothing in all creation-not even death-"will be able to separate [you] from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:39). Richard E. Williams.

Read Psalm 61:5-8:
My soul, wait silently for God alone,For my expectation is from Him.He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God.Trust in Him at all times, you people;Pour out your heart before Him;God is a refuge for us. Selah
"Thank you, Lord, for your love that moves me to the hope that you will never leave or forsake me. I'm waiting for your deliverance and delight.I'll not be put to shame.Work through me to share this hope with the hopeless. In Jesus' name", Amen.

Jesus' Silence!

I have often wondered why defense lawyers usually prefer for their clientsto not to testify during a trial. My simple mind always figures those whodon't testify must be guilty of something!
A defense lawyer friend of minetells me that silence is not an admission of guilt, but rather a tacticused to make the accusers prove their clients' guilt without the benefit ofbeing able to twist some words of the defendant.
A more important and perplexing question to me during the past few years ofstudying and teaching the Bible, is why was Jesus for the most part wassilent at His trials. He spoke briefly when a direct command was given toHim to speak, but all and all He was silent during his so-called trials.
Isaiah 53:7" He was beaten down and punished, but he didn't say a word. Hewas like a lamb being led to be killed. He was quiet, as a sheep is quietwhile its wool is being cut; he never opened his mouth".
This passage made me believe for years, that perhaps He was silent becauseHis silence fulfilled the prophecies. But that answer never seemed quiteright to me. So I dug deeper into the Word.

Look at the following passages:Matthew 26:62-63 "Then the high priest stood up and said to Jesus, "Aren'tyou going to answer? Don't you have something to say about their chargesagainst you?" But Jesus said nothing. Again the high priest said to Jesus,"I command you by the power of the living God: Tell us if you are theChrist, the Son of God.
"Matthew 27:13-14 So Pilate said to Jesus, "Don't you hear them accusing youof all these things?"
But Jesus said nothing in answer to Pilate, andPilate was very surprised at this. The preceding passages are typical of Jesus' defense during the mocktrials. He was as a lamb before the shearers, silent. But why was Hesilent? Why not call down the legions of angels. Why not just zap theaccusers?
Stay with me now, because I am going to give you the answer that recentlycame home to me. It was one of those "ah-ha!" moments. You know, an "ah-ha!Now I get it" moment.
Watch this: 1 Peter 2:23-24 People insulted Christ, but he did not insult them in return. Christ suffered, but he did notthreaten. He let God, the One who judges rightly, take care of him.
Christcarried our sins in his body on the cross so we would stop living for sinand start living for what is right.
Read Peter's words carefully. Why was Christ silent? He was silent becauseHe was in our shoes, He was taking our place, He was wearing our sins, Hehad no defense, because we are guilty. All of us sin and fall short ofGod's glory.
Jesus himself was innocent, but yet by proxy, He was guiltyand therefore could say nothing. Wow...He was silent for me. He was silentfor you. Which sins of yours did Jesus carry to the cross? ALL of them!Do you realize now a little better what Christ did for you?
Oh, man how canwe not be so thankful for this? How can we not be "on fire" with love forChrist? How can we not want to be more like Him? We could never do for Himwhat He has done for us.
But look at verse 24 again. He died so we wouldstop living a life for sin and turn to a life of living right. That's allwe want to do. Out of our love and gratitude for what He has done for us,we should strive to live life right.
"Father, thank You so much for Your Son Jesus, Who faithfully went to thecross for us, so that we may be forgiven for our sins and that we can bemade right with You Father, and in the process, we can do life right.Forgive us when we fall short of Your mark. Give us Your strength and Yourwisdom to continue in Your Word, so that we may bring glory and honor toYou. In Christ's name, Amen."
If you are blessed by this devotional, please forward it to your friends orsend us their email addresses that we may send them 'my manna'.If you wantus to pray for any need, please write to us at:pleasepray@gmail.com

God's victory without my battle!

"But I will have mercy upon the house of Judah, and will save them by the Lord their God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, by horses, nor by horsemen". Hosea 1:7.
Precious word!

God Himself will deliver His people in the greatness of His mercy, but He will not do it by the ordinary means.

Men are slow to render to God the glory due unto His name.
If they go to battle with sword and bow and win the victory, they ought to praise their God; yet they do not, but begin to magnify their own right arm and glory in their horses and horsemen.

For this reason our God often determines to save His people without second means, that all the honor may be to Himself alone.Look, then, my heart, to the Lord alone and not to man. Expect to see God all the more clearly when there is no one else to look to. If I have no friend, no adviser, no one at my back, let me be none the less confident if I can feel that the Lord Himself is on my side; yea, let me be glad if He gives victory without battle, as the text seems to imply.

Why do I ask for horses and horsemen if Jehovah Himself has mercy upon me and lifts up His arm for my defense! Why need I bow or sword if God will save? Let me trust and not be afraid from this day forth and for evermore. Amen.
